London Design Festival 2010

Tramshed

The Tramshed, a powerful exhibition of international design and creative collaborations initiated by De La Espada, is set to be the premier destination at this year’s London Design Festival. The Tramshed will feature 15 exclusive international brands set against the stunning backdrop of a post-industrial venue. Human Made

Human Made, an exhibition of emotional design manufactured by De La Espada, will be on display in the main hall of the Tramshed in East London from 22nd - 26th September. Designer-led brands Matthew Hilton, Studioilse, Autoban, Dick van Hoff, Charlene Mullen and Leif.designpark launch new products, with van Hoff and Mullen introducing their collaboration with De La Espada at the event. New products launching at the event include from Autoban, Butterfly chair; from Leif.designpark, Flower Cup Chair, Hug 2-Seater Sofa, Len Lamp, Lily Coffee Table, and Lily Side Table; from Matthew Hilton, Elephant chair and a modular sliding door sideboard, and from Studioilse, Together Table. Industrial tailor, Dick van Hoff will launch a new chair and sideboard and textile designer, Charlene Mullen will debut a range of cushions. More information and images


Leif.designpark to launch six new products

Young Japanese design team, Leif.designpark will launch six new products at London Design Festival nearly doubling their existing range.

Cool Britannia, Sydney



Our Sydney retailer, Spence & Lyda will hold an event on Wednesday 14th July to welcome Matthew Hilton and his eponymous brand to Australia. The event, titled Cool Britannia will feature a conversation with Matthew Hilton about his career and design ethos. Chef Tom Kime will provide canapes to accompany cocktails by Mitch Bushell. An Evening with Matthew Hilton, Singapore



On Friday, 16th July, our retailer, Dream welcomes Matthew Hilton to Singapore, hosting a launch event in their stunning showroom. 208 Duecento Otto, Hong Kong



On 15th June, Autoban’s first interiors project outside of Turkey opened in Hong Kong. 208 Duecento Otto offers rustic Italian cuisine from chef Vinny Lauria of New York’s acclaimed Babbo restaurant. The interior reflects the signature Autoban aesthetic, with its playful spirit and nod to the diversity of Istanbul, while embracing the local culture. Autoban utilised their signature raw materials as seen in steel pillars, marble tabletops and solid walnut floors and ceiling. Ceramic tiles, another signature, are specially designed for the location, blue and white and printed with Chinese illustrations. The project includes products manufactured by De La Espada including Nest lounge chair, Box Sofa, Holy Table and Butterfly chair (the latter launching at London Design Festival this year). 208 Duecento Otto, 208 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. New York International Gift Fair



If you missed our Furniture for Life exhibition, you still have a chance to catch it when we bring the exhibition back to our Greene Street store during the New York International Gift Fair from 14-19 August. The exhibition includes products from Autoban, Matthew Hilton, Leif.designpark and Studioilse which launched in Milan in April and London Design Festival in September 2009. The Oporto Show Review



From 17-20 June, the Furniture for Life exhibition was on display at The Oporto Show on Stand A04. Autoban, Leif.designpark, Matthew Hilton, and Studioilse presented the twenty-one latest products against the backdrop of the historic Alfandega do Porto. Three cocktail evenings gave visitors plenty of excuse to lounge on the furniture, while the perfect summer weather set the scene beautifully. View images here
